2009 PIA National Professional Agent of the Year: Mike Grushon
Columbus, OH – Mike Grushon, CIC, CRM, of Thomas & Grushon Agency in Bellbrook, Ohio, was honored by National Association of Professional Insurance Agents (PIA) with the 2009 PIA National Professional Agent of the Year Award. Grushon received recognition during PIA National’s Awards Luncheon April 4, 2009.
Agent Alert: Insurance Scam Targeting Agents
Insurance agents and brokers in Nevada and California have found themselves the target of a scam recently. According to information released, individuals posing as Department of Insurance (DOI) employees are contacting agents and brokers by telephone and are informing them that their license may be canceled as the result of outstanding fees/penalties. They are then told that by providing their credit card and social security numbers, the matter can be resolved over the telephone.
PIA Internship Program’s Inaugural Golf Outing Fundraiser Draws Strong Industry Support
Columbus, Ohio – Professional Insurance Agents Association of Ohio, Inc. (PIA) held an inaugural golf outing fundraiser June 22, and raised nearly $40,000 to benefit the Foundation for the Advancement of Insurance Professionals. The foundation was established in early 2009 to support the development and implementation of PIA’s Internship Program.
